Deceiving unfair return policy on electronic

Don't ever ever buy electronic item from Toys R Us unless you are 100 % sure you want to keep it. When I was ready to purchase the Ipod Touch 4th generation last month, I asked the worker at the cashier what was the return policy for the Ipod.

He said " Just return it within 45 days." I was happy with the policy, so I purchased the Ipod. Today I took it back to Toys R Us and tried to return it with the receipt and everything in the box, but the manager refused to return it. She said that the item had to be returned in an unopen box, and she pointed at the back of the receipt in fine print. That was the first time I read about the policy.

I told her I would never have bought the item had the worker told me that the item had to be returned in an UNOPENED BOX within 45 days when first inquiring about the return policy. He never mentioned about the item has to be unopened in order to return! This is deceiving! I trusted what the worker said about the return policy.

He omitted the most important information about the elctronic return policy. He tricked me, and I was deceived! What kind of return policy is this that you can never open the product to see how it works before you can decide if you want to return it!? what an unethical company!

They tricked and deceived customers. I would have bought my Ipod from Wal-Mart or Target where they do not have this kind of rediculous policy. I bought two Ipod from Toys R US, and I realized that one is sufficient for my family. But now I am stuck with both of them.

I learned a big and expensive lesson from this : I would NEVER NEVER EVER bought another electronic from Toys R Us, and I hope you do too.

you have two weeks for unopened electronics and 90 days for unopened toys WHERE CAN YOU RETUREN ANY ELECTRONIC OPEN AFTER 45 DAYS NO WHERE LADY I WORK FOR them AND YOU HAVE 2 WEEKS JUST LIKE ANY OTHER BOX RETAILER must be unopened if opened can be exchanged for same item only if this policy is the same for walmart target sams costco bestbuy anywhere if you have any issue with it and hate it go threw the manufacture to have them issue a refund and a manager well not issue you a refund just because your mad im sorry you cant read you should really do your homework and read i know your not dumb your just want to play dumb to get what you want i see it all the time in retail

Guest

They Can and will return anything if you go about it the right way. The manager on duty has the ability to return anything.

They do not want calls to corprate it looks bad for them. They most often will do anything to avoid it. Try another store if you dont get what you want or try another time of the day. All depends on who you get to help you and how there day has been.

I have worked in Management for over 5 years at Toys r us. Sucks that is that way I know but it is what it is.

Guest

Wow people really, the woman is just telling her story and some people are pure evil. How can some of ya really be happy that she couldn't return the product back ....

You really need God in your little, evil devil filled hearts. ToysRus really does suck big time and as a professional company they should have the return policy on the receipt or have a sign stating it.

Same thing happen to me but thank God I know how to make people like me and always get my way, good luck honey n go to a different toyrus n sweet talk them ...

No one is being mean to her, they are just telling her the truth. Don't bring God into this.

They are not evil. You apparently do not know how to read as well. The policy was on the receipt, and I am sure it was written on a sign.

Being four years old and not being able to read is no exception. Besides she should have asked an adult first before making such an expensive purchase.

Guest

Toys R Us has a return policy that they never expressed at check out. The only thing it said was original packaging.

They should clearly state it can not be opened.

The Tabeo is an expensive horrible product. DO NOT BUY

Guest

1st of all for all the people saying to look at the back of the receipt, some toys r us stores don't even have the fine print on the back of it... So now what?.

How about giving some useful information for these customers. I bought a Tabeo for my daughter, after hearing that it's laggy unresponsive to touch and the battery dies in a matter of minutes I opened it to see for myself. So now your telling us that they shouldn't be able to give me my money back?

Because they sold me something that is garbage? I don't think so, reality check please.

I will n we buy another electronic from there.

Guest

You cannot really blame them because you don't know how to read or chose not to read.

They sell products that are bought from manufacturers.

So guess what, if they are cheaply made then guess who you need to be complaining to. THE MANUFACTURER!!

Never sent me a promised promotional refund

At Christmas time 2010, Toys R Us ran a promotion that if people used their member reward program when making purchases, they would be sent a $10 gift car for every $50 spent, up to a max $50 value. I made several purchases, always used the card, and was expecting a gift card from Toys R Us.

They regularly contact me via both email and snail mail, so I am certain the member rewards program has my contact information. I did not receive the promised rebate. In February, I asked a store clerk about it, was told there had been some type of system glitch and the gift cards were being sent. In March, I asked again in store and was told they couldn't do anything about it, to call customer service to resolve it.

I called customer service a few weeks later, and they told me that the time to use the gift card had expired. I explained that I had never received the gift card. They acknowledged that they could see in their computer system that I had never been mailed the gift card, but that they would not send out a gift card because the time to use it had expired. I said, "but you can see that I was never sent the gift card, how could I use it before it expired?" but that was beyond the customer service manager with whom I spoke.

I tried writing their corporate office and never got any response.

Toy R Us return policy "Beware"

My 5 yrs old son bought one of these transformer toy brought home was very complicated for 5 yrs to put everything together and change to car to transformer with low quality plastic braking a part. on box it said age 3+ so i bought it.

We went to the shop asking for exchange, very rude staff - said we can't exchanges since you opened the toy - How can we try with toy inside the package? After lots of discussion she said I can have same toy in exchanges but she will open the box prior to selling it to us as we are returning the open toy - she brought new package ripped it of in front of us handed over to us - What did she just achieved by doing this? I have no idea - manager came she was also very-very rude. Since then decided never ever going back to Toys r Us there are better toy shop in Toronto.

Also in formed our friend that not to get toys from this worst toy shop and we are in our daughter BD we requested not to bring toys from Toys R Us as our daughter does not like their toys. B ye Bye toys R US Good luck with your rude staff.

toys r us / babys r us, not gonna a whole story, but consumers be aware, this place is terrible fo rservice, agreed with others walmart much better

Guest

Doesnt matter where you go. They would say the same thing.

Walmart, target, kmart, gamestop all run on the same basic policy. You open you dont get your money back. This is not a society where if u dont like it you return it. Thats not how things work.

Use your brain. YOu got it for really cheap so do you think its gonna be a good product.

Probably not. DUH!!!

Guest

Your complaint seems to be the norm for Toys R Us. I got a tablet computer marked nearly half off on a Wednesday Christmas special.

They didn't have any working models in the store. I was COMPLETELY unaware of their return policy on a tablet computer and thought I could just go ahead and buy it. If I didn't like it, just return it. I bought 2 for both my kids.

I tried one out for 15 minutes and decided that it wasn't going to fit our needs. I took both back with a receipt. The clerk asked if I opened them. i told her just the one was opened and I put everything back like it was.

The only indication of it being opened was the sticky seal on top wasn't as smooth as it was from the store. She told me she couldn't give me my money back all she could do was exchange it. Then she accused me of opening the second one! I told her I was not aware of that policy.

No one told me about the policy, it wasn't on the receipt. The only way to see if I liked it was to open it. I will NEVER shop there again. I got an email with their return policy that states a supervisor could have returned it, but a supervisor was never called even when I asked.

BTW. Their return policy is located over the return counter. When I called customer service to complain, I kept hearing how they take electronics, games, videos, and CDs with a receipt within 45.

It was then followed by see store for details. I would rather shop Wal-Mart than Toys R Us.

Guest

Tasha is actually correct. Bluntly correct at that.

Just because you dont like to hear someone that is actually right about something does not mean you can tell them to grow up. First of all, you wrote this like your kid.

@betty - good for you, most of time, even if u complain, nothing will be done. You know why. because in all reality know one gives a ***.

Another customer will replace you. Unfortunately, you probably have never worked retail and you dont know what it is like to deal with people like you.

Hence the understanding on why they might sound rude. Because they here the same thing over and over and it gets to the point where they do not want to help you.

Guest

Tasha grow up

Guest

They are soooo rude everywhere. I have vowed not to shop there again due to an incident with a very rude manager. I did call corporate to complain, but all I know they did was send me a letter of apology

Toys r us warranty useless

The checker offered us a warranty on a motorized vehicle, saying it was good for parts and labor; if the toy was broken or demolished, it would be covered. For 7 months our child's toy has not worked.

We called, and the man made a guess at what was wrong and sent us a part to install ourselves. It took months to arrive, and then it still didn't work. He made another guess and sent another part; still didn't work. Made a third guess; part is on back-order with no guess as to when it will arrive.

Don't even know if this part will fix the toy. Still can't play with the $300-toy. We asked for a replacement toy and were told that it will be replaced ONLY if the same part breaks 4 times. Otherwise, we are stuck.

There is no labor--you do it yourself. As for parts, they can't even figure out which part is broken. If they had been honest enough to tell us that there is no replacement or labor and that the same part has to break 4 times, I would never have invested $50 for the so-called warranty.

Noboby at Toys R Us cares; all they care about is money.

Read your brochure. All the details are in there.

And yes they do labor it depending on where you live. I live in hawaii and they offer service through a certified power wheels bike shop. On top of that. You have to go through most manufactures anyways.

Even through NEW, they have to contact the manufacture for the replacement part and no matter what you or NEW does, the manufacture takes forever to send out the part. That is how life is. There job is to try and fix the issue as best as they can through the policy.

Take time to compare these with other companies and you will find out that Toys R Us has one of the better service plans compared to others out there. Not saying its number 1 but its there.

Alan C Xap

The Buyer Protection plan brochure is extremely deceiving. You're right, there is no specific procedure or coverage details for your power wheels.

Then again, you took the "word" of a cashier. Cashiers are "trained" to ask you to make a spot decision on what they say. It'a all heresay and usually nonsense, though. Since the warranty company, NEW, has acted on it more than once - you don't have much recourse.

Outside pressure works better - email your local network or Action News reporter with this info. It'll get them moving.

Ripped off by toys r us!!!!!

My 11 year old son purchased a video game from toys r us during a promotion. He received a $20 gift card due to the promotion, the store clerk told him that this card would not be activated for six hours. Hence he was not able to use this on an additional purchase during this outing.

Saturday I took him back to the store and he tried to make a purchase using this $20 gift card, during this time he was told that this gift card expired on 1/31/11 and he therefore was out of luck! I spoke to the manager and he simply told me that he felt bad but there was nothing that he could do for my son. The card expired and the store took back the $20!

Talk about a bogus scam!! We left the store and both vowed to NEVER purchase anything again at TOYS R US!!!!!!!! That store preys upon unsuspecting youth and I will not patronize any corporation that steals from it's customers. Let's face it, many stores carry the same items as TOYS R Us and they do so at lower prices!

Boycott TOYS R US ......my family and friends will not support this store anymore!

That sucks

The promo gift cards clearly state on the front that they take 6 hours to activate and they clearly mark the expiration date on the front as well. In a situation like this the best option is to call 1-800-ToysRUs and see if they are able to reissue the gift card.

They are able to accommodate guests. Unfortunately it's a corporate thing therefore a store manager does not even have the clearance to override in the system or reissue the card.

The 1-800 number is best.

The circulars and sale signs state the cards expire as well.

- Human Resources at Toys R Us with the company since 2009.

I purchased a $1200 playset from Toys-R-Us. It was a mammoth structure that took a full day to assemble.

I purchased the 2-year service and replace plan. After a year, a lot of the wood had blown off due to how brittle and cheap it was. The playsets around my neighborhood all managed to survive, but mine just fragmented. I tried to get them to fix it and now they say that wood is not covered under the plan.

The thing is 99% wood!!! In addition, it does not mention wood ONCE in the warranty details. I have talked to a lawyer and we are planning to enter arbitration with them next week.

I don't care if it costs me three times what the *** playset costs, I will at a minimum waste their time and drag this thing out. My wife and I have spent a small fortune there, but I will NEVER buy from them again.

Guest

Last time i checked Toys R Us was in the top 50 for ethics and also in the top 50 for business last year.

keeping complaining, maybe it will make them get to the top 10.

Guest

Just have to say, most of the above people are a bunch of *** ***! There, that feels better :grin

Guest

First of all the promo that runs during Christmas is a gift certificate for your rewards member card. NOT a Gift Card.

Get your stuff together. And *** happens. Do you get anything like this at WalMart, Target, Kmart or anywhere else. NO you dont.

So stop complaining. Second, All the gift card promotions are stated on the gift card, including expiration.

So, stop blaming a store or company for the faults of your own. Not their fault you can not read.

Guest

Why go so hard for a gift card? "We vowed to never shop at Toys R Us again!!" Really? You make your life sound like an epic movie....lol

Guest

As a former sales associate of toyrus, employee ID: 176****, I can tell you that they in fact rip people and deceive many guest and customers. The rewards program does hardly anything for you, in fact it does nothing.

It is a device to be used as some sort of incentive to keep you coming back and making you think that youre saving money. Nope, not really, but please sign up anyway because the broke employees get fired if they dont mantain a certain quota of rewards cards

Toys R Us certainly does rip people off with their gift card promos. I haven't had any problems with the gift cards I've received in store, but they ran a promotion at Christmas saying that reward member customers would get $10 in gift cards for every $50 in purchases, never sent me my gift cards (which customer service can see in their computer system) and refuses to issue me a gift card because they are now expired. It's an intentional racket, and one doesn't have to be an uneducated consumer to fall prey to it the first time.

Toys R Us - Missing part on Thomas and Friends, Shake Shake Bridge

Therefore we can not complete installation the system. And my son is

This site isn't for ordering parts. You need to contact the manufacturer.

You probably shouldn't have posted your info on this website. It has nothing to do with Toys R Us the company. You probably aren't able to get anything from this site.

It's just where people go to complain. Go to your local store.

Guest

Why do consumers blame the retailer for issues with product instead of the manufacturer? There was not a Toys R Us employee standing on an assembly line this morning making your train set.

Call the manufacturer and have them resolve your issue under their warranty and customer service guidelines. Or is that too much for you to do?

Guest

We bought this for my son and the train that comes with it will not stay on the track. the track is always coming apart. this tract set is an annoyance to my life and i wish i had never bought it

Toys R Us Does Not Care About Customer Concerns

I originally began attempting to contact someone at Toys R Us in regard to a small issue that I have with their return policy. In that attempt I have been shown what little respect or concern Toys R Us has for its customers.

At every level, from the employees at the store I was in to the Executive Vic President and Chief Administrative Officer Deborah Derby, I have been treated as if I am just wasting everyone's time and that they wish I would just go away and leave things be. "Documenting my concerns" seems to be the only thing that anyone is willing to do. No one, at any level, is willing to listen to my concerns with their policy or why I have an issue with them.

I went through the channels set up by Toys R Us for customers to send their complaints and when that was not satisfactory, I pursued other avenues to get into contact with someone at the company that could address my concerns.

At this point, I have given up on anyone with Toys R Us caring or doing anything about my original issue, but I am not going to give up on the issue I have with how Toys R Us treats its customers.

Ok, People. Their return policy is posted at every register.

Whether you read it or not thats your fault. On top of that. You can call, you can go online, or you could have called the corporate number and asked any question. And hate to say this, whether its TRU or another company, they are all the same.

There job is to abide by the company;s policies. If your return does not do that, then they do not have to do anything.

Guest

You have to realize these employees hear it all the time. They're tired of arguing with people like you. Policies are in place for a reason and the people you are arguing with can't change the policy anyway.

When you purchase an item from a store, you are indirectly agreeing to abide by their return policy. If you don't agree with it, don't shop there. Period.

Also, I bet you aren't sharing the details for a reason. You probably know you were wrong.

Preston E Fsa

No exception was made. The part of the return policy that I have issue with did not directly affect me this time.

Again: "My issue is not so much with the fact that I believe the return policy is offensive, but with the attitude of the individuals I have spoken to within the company. They show a great attitude of contempt toward me for even suggesting that the policy should be changed."

My larger issue is not with the return policy (even though I find it offensive and believe that it should be changed) The issue I have is with the company's attitude toward me when I attempted to contact them with my concern.

Guest

They made an exception for you and you are still complaining and refuse to shop there? Why was it in their interest to listen/concede to you? By your own admission, giving you your way does nothing for them.

Since you aren't willing to explain what you were returning, why you were returning it, and which policy it broke, I'm willing to bet it is something that is an easy to understand policy.

Preston E Fsa

My issue is not so much with the fact that I believe the return policy is offensive, but with the attitude of the individuals I have spoken to within the company. They show a great attitude of contempt toward me for even suggesting that the policy should be changed.

On the original policy I had issue with: I don't like it, and I won't shop there.

Also, in my case, it did not effect me directly, I managed to jump through some hoops to get my return done. And the policy was not clearly posted in the store, I only became aware of it when I attempted the return.

Guest

Maybe they are standing by their policy and you should learn that no means no. If you don't like it, don't shop there. If you follow their clearly posted return policy, you shouldn't have a problem.

Toys R Us misleading "free" with purchase signs

If you are shopping at Toys R Us there is something to watch for besides their high prices- misleading (I daresay intentionally misleading) "free" with purchase signs. This is regarding their Nerf products.

The sign said "Free Bandolier kit with purchase of A/B/C guns". In the same display they also had a type C gun that already had a kit inside the packing. This was not included with promotion(though nothing on their signs said "X gun not included"), and the packaging was not exactly obvious. I was looking more at the names on the packages than the details where on the side it had the "bonus" kit listed on the box.

I paid for everything, went home, and thought "gee, that seemed kind of pricey when that kit should have been free". That is when I saw they charged me for it. I had to drive all the way back, and they didn't even apologize for their misleading signs and product placement. I rarely shop there because it is so pricey and their service is so poor.

Needless to say I returned the "free bonus bandolier" and will not be shopping there again. Waste of my time and gas, and no apology- what a joke.

It was the correct gun listed in the promotion- perhaps you don't know how to read.

Guest

If the sign says only guns A/B/C are included in the promotion, why would they put that gun X is not included. There's nothing misleading about that, you just don't know how to read a sign. Simple logic.

Disgusting Service

I went to the Toys R Us in Langley to purchase a Hots Wheels RC for my son for Christmas. There were none on the shelves so I went to Customer Service and was helped by the most unfriendly staff member I have ever had to deal with.

She told me there were 20 on order that had not arrived I could not leave my name for them to phone, they would not keep me one and there was nothing I could do. I was absolutly shocked infact I stood there with my mouth open staring at her. I had a long christmas list, but walked out the shop without pruchasing a s *** item.

The last time you will ever see me in a Toys R Us. Jack yourselves up.

yes you were way more important than the 50 other people that probably requested the same treatment for the 20 sets they had on order! first come first serve especially at a larger store like that...

everyone should be forced to serve retail time.....maybe you people would get off your high horse and treat these people with respect and realize the world actually doesnt revolve around you...

the fact that she told you more were on order was trying to be helpful. during christmas at a toy store you couldnt even imagine the amount of requests like that and what they have to deal with on a busy day ***!

Guest

I agree with Retail Employee. Christmas is so busy with customers trying to buy things at the last minute for their kids.

They probably had more people than just you looking for this Hot Wheels RC. Toys R Us usually stops their customer holds during this time because like Retail Employee said "Nothing would ever make it to the sales floor."

Guest

I think everyone should work retail through 1 Christmas season. The number of customers wanting things held for them is unbelievable. If we held merchandise for customers at Christmas nothing would ever make it to the sales floor.

Guest

Yep, first come first serve. I'm sure that since you're web-savvy you could find it on amazon.com or some place.

Guest

it's first come first serve in the real world. sorry it's not the same in your own world that you're living in.

yeah thats really weird she wouldnt take your name + number, how unprofessional.

Sucky Return Policy

I hate Toys R Us specifically their return policy. I understand that retailers have to have some type of return policy, but seriously, when I have my reciept and the item is still brand new and in the box, and I have my reciept but it has been longer than their 90 days to return, I don't think so.

Let me explain, I bought an exersaucer from them back in January, although at the time I was not expecting, just trying. When I found another exersaucer at the same store and just wanted to exchange the item for the other one, I was told no because it was out of my 90 days and I was stuck with the item and if I wanted the other one I would have to purchase it. Now, I have also purchased a mobile from the store, not anticipating needing to return it, a friend from work gave me the same one for free. So I called the store, asking them if they could find the item on file because I gave them my phone number so it should be on file, they tell me no.

Really? They give me a list of items that are on my phone number but are not mine, but my true items are not on my phone number. Then to top it off, when I speak to Chris, at the Mansfield, Ohio store, he gives me lip and tells me that he can't do anything about it. When I call 1-800- Toys R Us, they give me the website www.toysrusinc.com and tell me to look under the link guest relations.

Really? Cause it isn't there. So I call back to the 1-800 number, even more furious cause I can't find it, the first lady named Rona, gave me incomplete information. Needless to say, Toys R Us and Babies R Us have lost a customer and many others because I work in a hospital where MANY females are pregnant.

Bad customer service gets spread around quicker than good customer service does. Screw Toys R Us and their SUCKY return policy.

I am a former "R US" employee of 9 years. I can tell you that they their return/exchange policy changed almost 5 years ago.

The 90 days is correct; however, there is a way around it. If you still have that exersaucer and the receipt return it within the first two weeks after Christmas. Why???

you may ask; because within the first two weeks after Christmas they return/exchange items when accompanied by a receipt. Doesn't matter the date cause they don't look at the date; this is what managers and cashiers (at least the ones in Maryland are) are telling customers who purchase things months in advance as Christmas gifts ;)

Unable to Warranty Serialized Product in Canada!

We bought our kids a Nintendo Wii for Christmas last December. We no longer had the receipt.

It stopped working recently and we wanted to warranty the product. We went to the Toys R Us store where we bought it hoping they could either warranty the product themselves, or since it was serialized, print us a proof of purchase so we could warranty it directly with Nintendo. They can't do either. We called their 800 number hoping they could help us, but they said they don't currently have this capability in Canada.

I'm an entrepreneur that has had a number of businesses and I was always able to print a receipt for a customer with a serial number. Wow! we recently bought a TV at Costco. They have a two year return policy on most electronics.

I suggest you shop elsewhere.

There is this machine called a photo copier. I believe xerox makes them.

When you make an important purchase and buy a warranty perhaps make a copy of this information. You could have also registered the product on the website that is provided in the warranty pamphlet.

You apparently did neither. Tough *** for you sir!

Guest

Well first of all if you children cannot take proper care of a Wii they are obviously too young to own one. Second you are an adult, so you should have kept the receipt.

What a poor role model those children have. Your receipt would have had the serial number on it. Don't blame them because you were careless. At least we know where your children learn their carelessnes from.

Why you act like a big child yourself. We are not going to shop elsewhere just because you are unable to keep a receipt and throw a temper tantrum just because you did not get your way for your own carelessness. One would think you would store the receipt in the Nintendo Wii box and put it away somewhere incase you need to make a return.

But NO, you were careless, threw the receipt out, your childden were careless and damaged the Wii in less than eight months and you want them to help you. Well you have to be more careful with your stuff for that to happen.

Totally useless warranties

I bought a swimming pool from Toys R Us and an extended warranty. They claimed any damage from any source whatever would be covered.

They totally lied. The plastic pool was cut by something on the ground so no replacement. The customer "service" rep on the phone just tells the same lies over and over. ToysR Us is a completely useless store.

No more of my money to these liars. Says right on the flyer for the extended warranty that this takes care of everything, no worries.

Of course the very nice liar on the phone says he will be happy to refund the 3 months of the 15 month service that was not used. Sarcastic ***.

The warranty applies to any form of damage except for customer negliance. You were careless and did not check the area where you put the pool so they don't cover your stupidness.

Leah, it is possible that the OP is lying to get a return and no one told her that it was covered by Buyer Protection Plan. They used to be but probably because of careless people such as the OP who expect a replacement for their carelessness they stopped because people like Paul took advantage of their warranty.

I used to work at TRU. Pools are no longer covered by the Buyer Protection Plan.

Whoever sold it to you was mistaken. You can return the protection plan for a refund, as well as the pool for a replacement.

Honestly, if you really have a complaint, take it up with upper management. Us hourly slaves have no say over company policies.

Dont shop at toysrus 2

i spent a little over $300.00 @ toysrus on 12-21-09. one of the items i bought was a socom ps3 game for my son.

come to find out u had to have the internet and all kind of other *** to play the game just not a ps3. the reason i didn't know this prior is because u can not actually see the game u have to get a little white piece of paper with the name of the game on it and then carry it to the cashier where she gets the game and then rings u up and then puts it in a bag. i guess their worry about people stealing them. but anyway i contacted them to exchange the item and they told me that they wouldn't exchange the item are give me my money back due to me not having an itemized reciept.

i threw the oringal reciept away but i did have a bank statement stateing that i spent a little over $300.00 dollars there on 12-21-09. i was told that wasn't good enough. toyrus talks about how they are for kids but yet they conduct business like this especially around christmas. so i say f toysrus and any franchise with them.

i will never by another item from toysrus in fact i hope they go out of business.

peolpe like this usally get what they deserve. i agree with the other consumer WALMART all the way.

I didn't know they still used the ticket system for video games. I Toys R Us Canada got rid of that system almost 11 years ago. Now we have copies of the games on the floor for a more interactive approach.

I am a former employee of the "R US" company; of 9 years. Allow me to explain how the company (at least the store I worked in the whole 9 years) works.

They may have 3-4 knowledgeable associates whom can oversee the RZone (video game/electronics department); of those 3-4 people their availability play a role. Really it doesn't matter whether they are knowledgeable about that department or not; the person that makes the schedule or the manager will throw anyone who can work a register in that department. I know first hand because I worked in that department at one time; after that I was just pretty much a floater (any where they needed me). One day after not being in that department for almost 3 years they threw me in the RZone; needless to say I wasn't current with the newest systems, games, etc.

However, being the person that I am when a guest asked a question about something in that department I would give an honest answer (what I know, or I honestly don't know). Too make a long story short, they could have looked up your receipt using your credit or debit card and did the return/exchange that way; however, you most likely would have gotten the same exact game again, due to the return/exchange policy.

My guess is this dad did not get many people to side with him, felt hurt that they did not give him a belly rub, so he created another account himself to make it look like he had people on his side. That makes him a selfish brat in my book. However he messed up in his last post and it is obvious that Crazyshoppers is scottv.

Guest

I see who is siding with you. Obviously Crazyshoppers and scottv are the same person. They just made a mistake on what account they were using.

Guest

I told you before that I did not lose the receipt I threw it out. At least one person agrees with me. I am glad for that.

Another case of a careless parent not teaching their chidren responsibility. First of all your excuse about not being able to see the game is ridiculous.

You could have simply done the ADULT thing and asked to check the game over before purchasing it. I bet you also do the same thing when you get "M" rated games for your son, use the same excuse. Second of all you should again act like an ADULT(since you are one) and kept the recepit. You wuld have no problem.

People are not going to stop shopping at Toys R Us just because you are a careless, irresponsible parent and bad role model for your son.

I don't know what planet you are from, but the Bank Statement tells you how much you spent not what you bought. So that they cannot help you. So because you were careless, and irresponsible and refuse to take responsibility for your actions you want them to go out of business.

You act like an eight year old in front of your son. Shame on you.

Plus a new car is 20,000 +. It's different then buying a 50.00 dollar game you ***!lol.

Guest

If you don't have your receipt they don't know how much you paid for the game. It could have been buy one get on free and that could have been the free game. Keep your receipt and you won't have a problem.

I'm glad somebody finally understands what I'm trying to say. The way business was conducted I fill that they misreprensted their product.

It would be like me selling you a vehicle and all you know is it is a 2004 Toyota and this is written on a white sheet that is three inhes by three inches. Plus you never get to see the vehicle are read any paper work that comes with the vehicle. Then once you get the vehicle you find out it only runs on a certain gas that cost twenty dollars a gallon instead of three dollars a gallon and that it only has room for one person instead of two or four. I'm the type of person who knows about tools, guns, fishing, hunting, vehicles, etc.

I don't know anything about video games because I don't play them.

All I was trying to do was get a gift that my child asked for like the average parnet would do. My main thing is I fill that they could have a better system set up when customers are looking at games instead of a white sheet of paper three by three inches sticking in a holder with the name of the game written on it with no other information.

Guest

Are you serious?? You think someone is spoiled because they bought a game for their child and couldn't use it, they should be able to at least exchange it for a game they can use.

Maybe if their staff was trained to ask the proper questions before selling an item we would not have this problem.

Who cares where it comes from they can still sell it. That's *** so keep on shopping there and we wont miss rude people like you at walmart.

Toys R Us. lied about there 50% off day.

Toys R Us, Said on TV."Wednesday all day for one day 50% off Don't miss it". Well I, and I heard other angry customers around me. Every item in my carriage, which was 12 items. Was not 50% off not one item, I never heard such angry people, over the same thing. why isin't this 50% off. That's the only reason I went there. So I left everything in the carriage,And walked out if I could turn myself into 30 people. I would have picked all day!And advice,Wal-Mart is the cheapest store.

You and all those other people should have shopped with your parents. That way they could have told you that the 50 percent off was for certain items and explained things to you in a way that eight year olds such as yourselves could understand. That way you would not get angry and start to cry when the toys you wanted were not 50 percent off meaining you could only buy half the stuff with your allowence your parents gave you.

Guest

I apoligize that you can't afford a hearing aid or glasses because you are blind and def. The commercial says some items are 50% off.

How can the entire store be 50% off think about it. The deals on Black Friday aren't even that good.

People lie im glad you enjoy shopping at TRU. I work at one and im glad we don't have customers like this here.

Guest

I have had nothing but great experiences at Babies R Us and Toys R Us. So when I hear people complain about the service, my first thought is, did you speak with a tone?

Did you belittle someone? Did you walk in all demanding! Is this user error and somehow it's everyone else fault but your own? Im tired of people complaining about how everyone else in the world doesn't cater to them.

Where do you get this self-entitlement from? If the service is that bad! Go to Wal-mart or Target! Good luck if you can find anyone there that can tell you how to use all the functions for your items.

Please! Before you go posting complaints, read the print in front of your face

Guest

I don't remember anything about us saying EVERY ITEM in the store is 50% off...it was SELECTED ITEMS sweetie(:

Guest

it was selected items only in store read fine print not everything in store!

TRU-SVC ToysRUs gift card replacement impossible

Replacement impossible! Toys R US has a program where you can get a replacement gift card if your card is lost, stolen, or in my case not placed in the bag at the checkout counter and then comming up MIA.

You have to mail the reciept to the TRU-SVC (ToysRUS Service Card Program). The address you have to mail the reciept has changed and nobody at customer service 1-800-Toysrus have a clue to what it is and they keep giving out the wrong addresses. Thus consumers get a relentless run around of paying for postage and envelopes and a sorry CSR that gives you another undeliverable address. They dont do anything about fixing the problem.

They leave it for you to do all the work. It is pointless to call the 1-800 number b/c their problem lies in lack of communication at the headcourters 1 Geoffrey Way, Wayne, NJ"ลฝ - (973) 617-****"ลฝ. After looking at complaint websites such as consumeradvocate.com I have found that this company is in trouble because of poor cusomer service. Please spread the word to all that this company has a bad track record for their gift cards.

Do not buy them! In addition, if any TRU CSR or Managers stumble accross this then this is a wake up call that the SVC Program is faulty and the department manager should be fired!

I believe that is called abusing the system "My husband" I can see why you left him. Even if he were being honest, if he is careless enough to lose, have the receipt stolen or not taken it when he bought it than he should be doing the extra work. I bet once you found out that your husband was infact 10 years old you divorced him.

Guest

It was my ex husband who wrote this and the reason they are not giving him the replacement is because he does this all the time. He claims he somehow lost the giftcard, gives the receipt(sometimes three or four times with the same receipt) and gets gift cards for nothing, then he mysteriously finds all the receipts and does not mention it.

Guest

wah wah wah, grow up.
