We bought our kids a Nintendo Wii for Christmas last December. We no longer had the receipt.

It stopped working recently and we wanted to warranty the product. We went to the Toys R Us store where we bought it hoping they could either warranty the product themselves, or since it was serialized, print us a proof of purchase so we could warranty it directly with Nintendo. They can't do either. We called their 800 number hoping they could help us, but they said they don't currently have this capability in Canada.

I'm an entrepreneur that has had a number of businesses and I was always able to print a receipt for a customer with a serial number. Wow! we recently bought a TV at Costco. They have a two year return policy on most electronics.

I suggest you shop elsewhere.

There is this machine called a photo copier. I believe xerox makes them.

When you make an important purchase and buy a warranty perhaps make a copy of this information. You could have also registered the product on the website that is provided in the warranty pamphlet.

You apparently did neither. Tough *** for you sir!

Well first of all if you children cannot take proper care of a Wii they are obviously too young to own one. Second you are an adult, so you should have kept the receipt.

What a poor role model those children have. Your receipt would have had the serial number on it. Don't blame them because you were careless. At least we know where your children learn their carelessnes from.

Why you act like a big child yourself. We are not going to shop elsewhere just because you are unable to keep a receipt and throw a temper tantrum just because you did not get your way for your own carelessness. One would think you would store the receipt in the Nintendo Wii box and put it away somewhere incase you need to make a return.

But NO, you were careless, threw the receipt out, your childden were careless and damaged the Wii in less than eight months and you want them to help you. Well you have to be more careful with your stuff for that to happen.
